here’s what you need to know about Taiwan paying tourists to visit

Many countries continue to struggle to bring back tourism on the scale that it was before the COVID-19 pandemic.   Places like Hong Kong   and   regions in Italy have turned to offering free travel   and even free houses to encourage people to visit and to help boost their economies. The latest place on that list is Taiwan. The government is offering tourists 5,000 New Taiwan dollars (about $163 USD) per traveler or NT$20,000 (about $653 USD) for up to 90,000 tour groups. According to The Points Guy, Chang Shi-chung, the director-general of the Taiwan Tourism Bureau, said the money would be sent via a digital tourist card to ensure the funds go directly to Taiwan’s tourism. Travelers will be able to use the cards for food, accommodation, and other travel expenses. Taiwan is focusing on attracting more visitors from places like Japan, South Korea, Southeast Asia, Hong Kong and Macao, Europe, and the U.S. According to the Taiwan Tourism Bureau, it saw under 900,000 visitors in 2022 com

Auto Giant Nissan recalls more than 700,000 Rogues over car key defect that can shut off the engine while driving

Nissan is recalling at least 712,458 vehicles in its Rogue line over an issue with malfunctioning car keys that can inadvertently cause engines to shut off. The recall affects “S” grade trim-level Nissan Rogue Sport and Nissan Rogue vehicles equipped with jackknife keys, including the 2017-22 Nissan Rogue Sport and the 2014-20 Nissan Rogue. As a result of the defective keys, drivers could inadvertently make contact with them and turn the vehicles off while driving, increasing the risk of crashes, Nissan said. Nissan said that while it prepares a remedy, registered owners will be notified to avoid attaching accessories to key fobs and to use the key in the "nonfolding" orientation. Dealers and rental fleets will also be instructed to insert fasteners into the key slots that will prevent the keys from folding.   According to Autoweek, the Rogue was the eighth-best-selling used vehicle of 2022. The 38 years old Ex-basketball player who built a $30 million competitor business because he thinks Nike and Adidas aren't doing enough for black people.

Lanny Smith wants someone to challenge sportswear giants like Nike, Adidas and Reebok — so much that he’s trying to do it himself. Smith, 38, is the founder and CEO of Actively Black, the sportswear company he launched in 2020 in the wake of George Floyd’s death. At the time, plenty of big companies were issuing statements condemning racism while pledging to promote diversity and invest in Black communities. The promises rang somewhat hollow for Smith, a former University of Houston basketball star who saw the $170 billion industry as reliant on the Black community’s culture, influence and consumer dollars. Rather than lobbying for change within multibillion-dollar giants, Smith wanted to try beating them at their own game. “A lot of these sports apparel brands have profited off of Black talent,” Smith tells CNBC Make It, referring to numerous endorsement deals with superstar Black athletes. ”[The companies] have profited off of the consumerism from the Black community. And I felt li

iPhone 15 Pro is getting an upgrade in looks and different LiDar sensor

One of the components that sets the pro iPhone apart from its lower-end counterpart is the camera system. Not only do the pro iPhones include a zoom and macro lens but also a LiDAR sensor that helps the phone with not only augmented reality, but more precise photography and videography. Apple has seemingly used the same LiDAR sensor since it was brought to the pro iPhones with the iPhone 12 Pro, but that could be about to change. According to supply chain analyst Ming Chi Kuo, Apple is moving away from Lumentum and Win Semi, it's current partners for the sensor, to Sony for supply of the LiDAR sensor for all iPhone 15 Pro production. According to Kuo, "the critical design of Sony's ToF VCSEL solution is integrating VCSEL & driver IC, which can reduce power consumption or provide better ToF performance under same power consumption." This means that Sony's sensor could result in better battery life as well as performance for the camera and augmented reality. Th
