Apple Watch Series 7 Different Design & Unexpected Details

It looks like it’s just a couple of weeks until the next Apple launch event when the latest Apple Watch will be unveiled, alongside a new crop of iPhones and AirPods 3. And as the rumors continue to appear, today comes one from a respected Apple leaker.

In his Power On newsletter, the leaker says he believes that the next Apple Watch, doubtless to be called Series 7, will feature a new design and a different-sized display.

That ties in with what other reports have said, and the leaker agrees that what’s coming is a design that leans on the flatter edges found on the iPhone 12 and iPad Pro, marking the biggest change to the Apple Watch design yet.

Just as the flatter edges of the iPhone allowed for a bigger display size in the same size device, so an extra bit of display size will come with the new design.

The new Apple Watch models will come in 41mm and 45mm sizes, instead of the current 40mm and 44mm versions. Sure, 1mm doesn’t sound much, but on a device this small, you’ll notice it.

Also, that’s the case height which is referred to in that size, so if the bezels around the display are thinner, as is highly likely, the screen size increase will be more than 1mm, and more noticeable still.

The new details not heard before until the leaker’s comments concern faces for the Apple Watch. This year, he claims, new faces will be revealed that are designed to make the most of the larger screen real estate.

Specifically, he says there’ll be an updated version of the Infograph Modular face. For me, this almost very good news. My favorite Watch face by far is Infograph, and the Modular version comes close, but it’s digital and I’m all-in on analog.

Never mind, I’ll keep an open mind.

The other detail is something that’s not happening: The leaker thinks there won’t be new health features coming this year. Well, he may be right that there are no new health sensors being added, but I wouldn’t put it past Apple to wring more functionality out of the existing sensors. We already know sleep tracking is going to get better on watchOS 8, and it may be there will be other benefits on the next Apple Watch.

Not long until we know.

Montenegro clashes as Serbian Orthodox Church leader installed a new leader  Police used tear gas against protesters who threw rocks and bottles in the city of Cetinje. Montenegro split with Serbia in 2006 but its church remains under the Serbian Orthodox church. Some, including Montenegro's president, see it as a symbol of Serb influence. President Milo Djukanovic had urged protesters to disrupt the inauguration of Joanikije II to the top clerical position, known as the Metropolitan of Montenegro and Archbishop of Cetinje. On Saturday, hundreds of protesters set up barricades to block access to Cetinje and the demonstrations spilled into Sunday when the ceremony took place. Police arrested more than a dozen people, including an advisor to the president. At least 20 people were injured, AFP reported. "We're on the barricades because we're fed up with Belgrade denying our nation, and telling us what are our religious rights," protestor Andjela Ivanovic tol

Talibans in Afghanistan now implementing manhunt to find targets

It said the militants have been going door-to-door to find targets and threatening their family members. The hard-line Islamist group has tried to reassure Afghans since seizing power, promising there would be "no revenge". But there are fears the Taliban have changed little since the brutal 1990s. The warning the group were targeting "collaborators" came in a confidential document by the RHIPTO Norwegian Center for Global Analyses, which provides intelligence to the UN. "There are a high number of individuals that are currently being targeted by the Taliban and the threat is crystal clear," Christian Nellemann, who heads the group behind the report.  "It is in writing that, unless they give themselves in, the Taliban will arrest and prosecute, interrogate and punish family members on behalf of those individuals." He warned that anyone on the Taliban's blacklist was in severe danger, and that there could be mass executions. The Tal
